When we first released Adventures of Neko, we were excited as well as a little scared. It was a game made with love and with a purpose: a small adventure about a cat who helps others find themselves. But release day didn’t go the way we imagined. This post is about what went wrong, what we learned, and how your feedback helped shape the game into something better.

The Idea Behind Adventures of Neko

Adventures of Neko was built around a simple idea: a kind cat, small adventures, and helping others along the way. We wanted a calm, story-driven mobile game that focused on exploration, puzzles, as well as empathy, and small moments rather than a fast-paced feel. From the start, our goal was to create something cozy and meaningful but good intentions don’t always guarantee a smooth launch.

Release Day: What Went Wrong

When the game launched, we quickly realized we had problems. Players pointed out issues such as:

  • Performance issues / bugs

  • Gameplay systems that felt confusing

  • Controls and UI frustrations

The feedback was tough to read. Reviews were more negative than we hoped, and it became clear that we had shipped the game with many things that needed a bit more work.

Listening to Feedback

It would have been easy to let it be as is but we didn't want that for our game and our players. Like Neko, we care about our fellow community and the experience the players have, it matters to us. For this reason, we decided to listen and take action.

Our players were honest and they cared enough to explain why they were frustrated. The feedback that was given to us, became our roadmap. We took every positive and negative comment into consideration and made a few changes, we started tracking common complaints, prioritizing fixes, and rethinking design decisions that didn’t work in the first place to make the game more pleasant for all.

Improving the Game, One Update at a Time

We began rolling out updates focused on fixing bugs, improving game stability, redesign some UI, adjusting balance and pacing as well as polishing the overall experience. Each update moved the game closer to what it should have been from the beginning and that is only because of your feedback, so thank you so much for contributing to a better game!

Where We Are Now

Today, Adventures of Neko is in a much better place. We’re starting to see more positive reviews, especially from players who mention how much the game has improved since release. That means everything to us. The game isn’t just our project anymore; it’s something shaped by, not only the team, but as well, the community around it, by you.

Thank You for Helping Neko Grow

If you left a critical review, reported a bug, or sent feedback, we want to thank you. You helped us improve and grow, both as developers and as storytellers.

Neko’s adventure is about helping others, and in a way, let's say, you helped Neko help us.

We’re committed to continuing this journey, listening closely, and making Adventures of Neko the best experience it can be.

From our development team to You,

Thank you! 🐾
