When we first launched Adventures of Neko, our little life-saving cat had one big mission: rescue those in need while guiding players through a heartfelt, story-driven adventure.

Over the past weeks, we’ve been listening closely to your feedback, watching gameplay patterns, and learning where players struggled or simply needed a bit more guidance. This update is a direct reflection of those lessons. Here’s what we improved, and why.

Clearer Direction, fairer smoother combat and stronger storytelling.

Many players needed stronger guidance early on. So we:

  • Kept the objective arrow active throughout Chapter 1.

  • Improved and expanded hints (especially in Chapters 2, 4, 5, and 6).

  • Added a system that highlights the hint icon if you’re stuck.

  • Introduced a quest systemĀ to track past and current objectives.

  • Added visible ā€œNeko thoughtsā€ to better guide players through each chapter.

We reduced early frustration by:

  • Slowing down exploding ghosts.

  • Removing one overly aggressive arena enemy.

  • Adding a proper combat tutorial.

  • Increasing button and slider sizes in the Jaaku minigames from Chapter 6.

Challenge should feel rewarding, not overwhelming.

We enhanced emotional and visual storytelling:

  • Improved environmental details (like Vesper’s safe and Reikon outside the window).

  • Upgraded the final Chapter 1 animation sprites.

  • Expanded the CEO’s expressions and added new memory moments in Chapter 4.

As well as many other updates, such as various bug fixes and performance improvements.

This update makes Adventures of Neko gameplay clearer, fairer, and more immersive. We’re just getting started. 🐱✨
